Font Registration & Bar Code Scanning

Font Installation Steps:

  1. Copy the fonts in any directory (local machine).
  2. Go to control panel and open “fonts” folder.
  3. File àInstall New Font.
  4. Select the directory where we copied the fonts and press “OK” Button.
  5. Go to below Path and open “xdo” file.
Note: config file path based on the installation of XML Publisher Desktop or BI Publisher

C:\Program Files\Oracle\XML Publisher Desktop\Template Builder for    Word\config
Or
C:\Program Files\Oracle\BI Publisher\BI Publisher Desktop\Template Builder for Word\config

  1. Append the code which is mentioned below.

  1. We have to call the java class, to read the bar code by scanner
           Syntax: 
              Example: 
  1. For the data to be encoded the following command is required.

a)  Click on Data, select Load XML Data. Load the “.xml” file.
    
b)  Select Field to change the Bar Code.

c)  From this LOV select the Bar Code font.

d)  To view the output click on Preview, select PDF.


  1. Place the xxcmfgBarcodeUtil.class file in the following path.

    oracle.apps.xdo.template.rtf.util

 Example: /apps4/ERPTST/apps/apps_st/comn/java/classes/oracle/apps/xdo/template/rtf/util


How to register Fonts in Oracle Applications

1)     Go to XML Publisher Administrator responsibility.
2)     XML Publisher à AdministrationàFont Files
3)     Click on Create Font File and Enter the Font Name and Font File (Font Name should be same as Font File).
   

4)     Click on Apply.
5)     Go to Font Mappings tab and click on Create Font Mapping Set.
6)     Enter the Mapping Name, Mapping Code and Type.

7)     Click on Apply.
8)     Click on Create Font Mapping and Enter Font family, Style, Weight and Font type.
  

9)     Click on continue and enter the Font.

10)  Click on apply.
11)  Do the configuration for Data definition and Template. Click on “plus” for FO Processing and Enter the Font mapping Set.

Note: -   For all fonts of IDAutomation need java and class file for scanning.

(ii)                 Bar Code Scanning For Free 3 of 9 Extended:à

There is no need of java and class file for Free 3 of 9 extended font .We have to add
Prefix and suffix character (*) in Free 3 of 9 Extended, to read the bar code by scanner
